The Elton Brand Foundation
was established by 1999 NBA Rookie of The Year and LA Clipper's
star Elton Brand to support nonprofit
organizations that have a commitment to after school education programs, fostering and encouraging
children's participation in sports, and support of single
parents. Grants will be focused in geographical areas
where he has lived and played.
The
Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology Education
(FASTec)
was
established by James Dunn to help promote
science and technology education, and explore emerging technologies, especially alternate
energy technology such as fuel cells, and advanced transportation vehicles. FASTec currently is
funding the development of the world’s first fuel-cell-powered electric airplane.
The Flaim Foundation was established
by the Olympic gold medal speedskater Eric Flaim. The Foundation is committed to fostering an
appreciation and understanding ofsport and sport activities in the lives of
children. The Foundation attempts to enrich and augment the
physical education experience at schools and
community centers by enhancing or providing after-school sports programs for children.
The Fund For Fighting Asthma --3FA--
was established by sportscaster Bill Daughtry. The mission is to help those afflicted with
asthma improve the quality of their lives by bringing their
asthma under control.
The Jalen Rose Foundation
was established by Toronto Raptors Guard Jalen Rose to provide
funding for programs that support single
parents, to work with community kitchens that provide meals
for individuals and families in need, and to
support nonprofit organizations that assist deserving children in achieving their primary education
and/or college goals.
